ImpactAlpha, May 8 – Small businesses account for half of all jobs in Brazil and contribute about one-fifth of GDP. Yet, Brazil is a difficult place to own and run a business. Mandaê is a Brazilian parcel shipping company, with a clientele of small and medium sized e-commerce companies.

Online sales offer growth opportunity for small businesses, and “to facilitate this growth, small- and medium-sized e-commerce companies need access to more affordable and efficient shipping options to support the robust consumer demand,” the IFC said in a statement.

  • Mandaê’s model… the company offers a pick up and packaging service specifically for small e-commerce businesses so they can outsource their delivery operations.
  • Other investors… UPS Strategic Enterprise Fund, Mercado Libre Fund, Tekton Ventures, FJ Labs, Performa Investimentos, Qualcomm Ventures Monashees, and Icon Holding Company also backed Mandaê’s Series B round.
