Q: How will the new ImpactAlpha be different?

Q: Why is ImpactAlpha charging for subscriptions?
A: Powering our growth with subscription fees aligns our interests with yours: More high-quality content, community engagement and data will attract more and better subscribers, which means we can keep investing in our team and producing more of the content you value.
Q: The new subscription price is quite a hike. What can I do?
A: We recognize it may be unexpected to be asked to pay for something that seemed to be free in the past. In fact, The Brief has been bootstrapped and subsidized by sponsors and the ImpactAlpha team itself. Here are five ways readers tell us they are absorbing the cost (please share your suggestions as well!):
- Budget for it. If ImpactAlpha adds value, include it in your planning like other expenses.
- Expense it. Make ImpactAlpha a business expense. It’s less than the price of a typical conference -– with no hotel or airfare required.
- Maximize the freebies. We put out a number of free articles and other features each month, including ‘Returns on Investment,’ our weekly podcast, the ImpactSpace database and more.
After an introductory period, we’ll offer a monthly plan (but an annual subscription will still be cheaper).

Q: Can I share your newsletters and articles?
A: If you find something in one of our newsletters particularly useful for you and your colleagues, by all means share! If you routinely forward them to all your colleagues every day, we encourage you to consider additional subscriptions. If you need more than 10 subscriptions, shoot us an email at email@example.com, and we can talk about bulk discounts.
Q: Will I still have access to the website?
A: Everyone will be able to read at least three free articles on ImpactAlpha.com each month. When you visit the website, you’ll be prompted to provide your email address.
Q: What if I don’t want to get so many emails?
A: Subscribers can manage their subscription through their account setting page. You can choose to receive any or all — or none — of our daily and weekly emails. It’s up to you. You’ll still have access to ImpactAlpha.com where you can find everything we publish.
Q: What happens to Impact Voices guest posts?
A: Any article on ImpactAlpha, including Impact Voices pieces, can be shared. In some cases Impact Voices articles will be made broadly available (i.e. in addition to the three free articles each month).
Q: What’s up with the Slack channel?
A: Slack is a messaging app that will make it easy for all of us — writers, editors, readers, impact investing practitioners — to talk to each other. We’ll be using it to post questions, start conversations and check in with you as we grow.
Q: What will I get out of the conference calls?
A: The conference calls are a chance for you to hear directly from ImpactAlpha writers and editors as well as industry insiders about big stories in the industry and where we see the trends leading. We plan for them to be casual, engaging, behind-the-scenes discussions.
Q: How much will it cost?
A: A full-price annual subscription to ImpactAlpha will cost $599. Readers who sign up for a subscription between April 2 and April 30 will pay $399, a $200 savings. We don’t offer refunds, but you can always cancel at any time. If you do, you’ll keep access to the end of the period you’ve paid for. You can review our pricing and payment policy.
Q: That’s a lot of money.
A: An annual subscription to ImpactAlpha gives you complete access to all our content, our two daily newsletters, a subscribers-only messaging community, exclusive invitations to events and roundtables for a full year — all for less than the registration fee of a single investing conference — no airfare or hotel required!
Q: What will you do with the money?
A: Subscription revenues will be used to improve and grow ImpactAlpha. We’ll be able to offer more and better coverage, lively community features and more voices from around the impact investing industry.
Q: What if I can’t afford it?
