ImpactAlpha, February 8 – Atlanta-based Sudu runs a marketplace to connect small trucking companies to corporations in need of transport and delivery services. New York-based Harlem Capital has invested an undisclosed amount of capital in the company, joining a roster of prior venture funds including Atlanta Seed Company, Comcast Ventures Catalyst Fund, Plug and Play, and corporate-backed Engage Ventures.

Investors are putting serious cash into black and Latino-founded businesses

Sudu’s mission, when it launched in 2015, was to help small minority-, women- and veteran-run trucking businesses secure access to customers like Walmart and UPS. The platform improves pricing transparency for small businesses, overall supply-chain efficiency in the trucking market, and carbon emissions, by ensuring that trucks are able to carry loads in both directions from delivery sites. It helps “to create more wealth for women and minority business owners,” Harlem Capital’s Jarrid Tingle said in a statement.

Sudu currently supports about 300,000 small businesses.
