About this Role
As an ESG Investment Associate at Patria, you will play a critical role in supporting the ESG Investment Officer with pre-investment ESG processes and fund-level compliance across various asset classes and funds. This role ensures ESG readiness from the initial investment screening to the financial close. You will be responsible for applying ESG screening criteria, preparing appraisal memos, supporting due diligence processes, and coordinating information flow among teams and external consultants. Your work will include drafting ESG sections of investment papers, maintaining compliance documents, monitoring regulatory developments, and supporting internal training sessions on ESG topics.
Responsibilities
- Apply exclusion lists and ESG eligibility criteria at the initial screening stage.
- Prepare ESG appraisal memos for review.
- Maintain and update ESG databases and deal pipeline tracking.
- Assist in preparing ESDD Terms of Reference for consultants.
- Coordinate information flow in due diligence processes.
- Review findings from ESDD reports and identify key risks.
- Support ESG studies and thematic assessments.
- Draft ESG sections of investment committee papers.
- Assist in preparing and tracking E&S Action Plan templates.
- Support the review of ESG-related legal documentation.
- Maintain ESMS documentation and compliance records.
- Monitor regulatory developments related to ESG obligations.
- Support ESG sections of LP reports and presentations.
- Coordinate documentation systems and audit trails.
- Support internal ESG training sessions and workshops.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or sustainable finance.
- Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards and familiarity with SFDR.
- Experience with due diligence in private equity or similar asset classes.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ESG reporting tools is a plus.
- Fluency in English and either Spanish or Portuguese required.
