About this Role
The role of Senior Associate/AVP in Emerging Technologies at Temasek involves being part of a dynamic team that drives the investment in deep-tech and AI innovations. The Emerging Technologies team aims to capture global opportunities that can leverage science and engineering for high financial returns. The candidate will engage in developing investment theses, working with early-stage startups, and contributing to the creation of potential category leaders. This position offers the flexibility of working from either the San Francisco or Singapore office, operating within a global network of professionals dedicated to high-impact investment strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop investment thesis, originate opportunities and execute investment process with speed and rigor.
- Support and track portfolio companies’ performance and strategies; actively identify cross-portfolio synergies and partnerships.
- Enable new deep tech investment opportunities and platforms with a mindset towards value-creation levers beyond capital.
- Build global networks, establish thought leadership and foster collaborative ecosystems.
- Enable high-performance, high-velocity teamwork alongside like-minded teammates.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in STEM disciplines. PhD and/or MBA would be viewed favorably.
- Minimum 4 years of working experience in R&D, product development, tech strategy formulation, and business development roles.
- Financial modelling skills would be advantageous.
- Keen analytical skills and the ability to glean insights from technical, commercial, and financial data.
- Ability to multi-task and lead in a dynamic and complex operating and regulatory environment.
- Possess high level of interpersonal communication skills, presentation, and learning agility.
- Able to work well cross-functionally, as part of different teams, and with multiple stakeholders.
