About this Role
The Principal at Candide Group’s Afterglow Climate Justice Fund will play a crucial role in designing and launching the second investment vehicle, culminating the deployment and management of the current project. This position requires robust collaboration with the CIO and Managing Director to refine strategies aligned with the climate justice sector’s evolving needs. The Principal will manage all elements of strategy execution, including origination, underwriting, structuring, management, and investor communication. The role involves working with a supportive team, including a direct report, investment operations, and vehicle administration teams.
Responsibilities
- Finalize deployment of the current vehicle within the first 6-9 months, transitioning to the new vehicle.
- Actively source new opportunities aligning with vehicle strategies through networking and outreach.
- Evaluate and screen deals based on impact, financial feasibility, and strategic alignment.
- Conduct due diligence, draft, and present credit memos to the investment committee.
- Negotiate and structure debt facilities, drafting terms and loan documents with legal counsel.
- Monitor borrower performance and manage vehicle financials and support annual audits.
- Recommend actions on loan amendments and engage in restructurings if needed.
- Contribute to quarterly investor reports.
Requirements
- Deep climate infrastructure finance expertise with 7-10+ years of credit underwriting and loan structuring experience.
- Proficiency in debt investment vehicle design and management.
- Commitment to climate justice and comfort working with diverse stakeholders.
