About this Role

The Managing Director of Investments at Meyer Memorial Trust will lead the strategy, governance, and oversight of the Trust’s diversified investment portfolio. This senior leadership role is integral to preserving and growing the endowment in alignment with Meyer’s mission. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Managing Director will engage with the Board of Trustees to guide investment practices that support both current and future mission impacts. The successful candidate will bring deep investment acumen and leadership experience to maintain and enhance Meyer’s investment operations. They will drive the development of long-term strategies while addressing the evolving market landscape and aligning financial performance with the organization’s values. The role demands collaboration across internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance, performance, and mission-aligned investments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of long-term investment strategy for Meyer’s endowment.
  • Oversee strategic and tactical asset allocation across various asset classes.
  • Evaluate market conditions and investment opportunities.
  • Conduct scenario planning, liquidity analysis, and portfolio stress testing.
  • Lead investment due diligence on investment managers.
  • Prepare and present investment recommendations and portfolio updates to the Board of Trustees.
  • Oversee operational processes related to investment implementation.
  • Integrate mission alignment and sustainability into investment strategies.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders in the organization.
  • Represent Meyer in the institutional investment and philanthropic communities.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise managing complex institutional portfolios.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical rigor.
  • Ability to communicate complex investment concepts clearly.
  • Experience serving as an advisor to senior executives and boards.
  • Commitment to transparency and continuous learning.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible institutional investment experience.
  • Expertise across public markets, private investments, hedge funds, and real assets.
  • MBA, CFA, or related advanced credential (preferred).
  • Experience with impact investing and ESG integration.
