About this Role
The Loan Officer (LO) position at NESsT is crucial for supporting the Lirio Fund Andes team located in Lima, Peru. The role requires involvement in all facets of fund operations, with a primary focus on opportunity evaluation, due diligence management, contract finalization, and integration of enterprises into the NESsT portfolio. The Loan Officer will also play a pivotal role in sourcing new opportunities to enhance the investment pipeline. This is a full-time role with an initial three-month trial period, reporting to the Lirio Fund Andes Director and leading Loan Associates’ activities. The candidate will have the opportunity to travel to different cities within Peru and Colombia, as needed, to facilitate investment processes and partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Generate leads and investment opportunities via existing networks and NESsT connections.
- Conduct analysis and due diligence on social enterprises (SEs) to assess loan feasibility.
- Create investment memos and present at Credit Committee underwriting stages.
- Develop and manage loan finance models incorporating business projections.
- Highlight and recommend strategies for identified risks.
- Assist entrepreneurs during due diligence to help them qualify for NESsT loans.
- Assess social and environmental impact using NESsT’s framework.
- Negotiate and finalize transaction terms and agreements.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s (MBA, economics, finance) is preferred.
- At least 8 years of work experience, including 4 years in investment or financial review within Latin America.
- Strong project management, financial modeling, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with accounting and reading financial statements.
- Commitment to social impact, with an advantage for experience in social enterprises or impact investing.
- Required experience in the Andes region (Peru, Colombia).
- Proficiency in Spanish and advanced English skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure in a non-profit environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
