About this Role

Liberty Mutual Investments is seeking a Credit Strategist to develop and lead credit strategies across various markets. The selected candidate will be responsible for formulating a framework for expected returns, risks, and betas across credit arenas. An essential part of this role involves the evaluation of spreads, defaults, liquidity, and structural premia. Additionally, the strategist will identify relative value across multiple segments, ensuring their consistency with company mandates. The position requires contributing to scenario analysis, stress testing, and ensuring the alignment between top-down views and actual positing. Clear, decisive outputs aimed at influencing senior leadership are necessary, along with providing timely recommendations for exposure adjustments in the markets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a framework for expected returns, risks, and betas across credit markets.
  • Formulate views on spreads, defaults, liquidity, and structural premia.
  • Identify relative value across segments, capital structures, and geographies.
  • Ensure consistency of views across mandates.
  • Contribute to scenario analysis and stress testing.
  • Align top-down strategic views with actual market positioning.
  • Provide timely recommendations to adjust exposures.
  • Support key structural themes impacting credit markets.
  • Deliver clear, decision-oriented outputs for the Investment Committee and senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years in top-down credit strategy, multi-asset investing, or portfolio management.
  • Experience across public and private credit markets preferred.
  • Track record of translating views into portfolio outcomes.
  • Proficient in using data sources like Bloomberg, PitchBook, etc.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to internal systems.
