About this Role
As a Decarbonization Portfolio Analyst at Google, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our growing portfolio of carbon market instruments. Your expertise will contribute to our sustainability goals by managing these instruments and providing relevant insights driving our strategic initiatives. You will work closely with various partners to gather data, interpret it into actionable insights, and enhance our data capabilities to support our decarbonization roadmap. You will oversee the development of tools and processes that align with strategic investment decisions, and provide leadership in identifying gaps and analytical needs as our strategy progresses. Reporting to the Global Sustainability Team, your contributions will support Google’s goal of building a sustainable future through insightful strategy and engagement both internally and externally with stakeholders and partners.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight for our carbon market instrument strategy.
- Collaborate with technical teams to build analytics necessary for tracking sustainability metrics.
- Develop tools, analysis, and reporting to support strategic investment and leadership reviews.
- Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and execute on strategies.
- Identify new gaps and analytical needs to develop innovative tools and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in program or project management.
- Experience with data engineering, business intelligence, or data analytics.
- Experience with energy markets or grid infrastructure.
- Preferred: 4 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or data analytics, especially in the energy sector.
- Experience with database structure, APIs, and analytics on large datasets.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
