Avaana Capital's Climate and Sustainability Fund is a $135 million venture vehicle focusing on early-stage startups developing climate solutions and sustainable production systems across India. The fund targets innovations in clean energy, mobility, agriculture, and biomanufacturing sectors, providing capital ranging from $1.2 million to $3.6 million per investment. It aims to build a portfolio of approximately 25 companies at seed and Series A stages, with select follow-on investments into Series B rounds. The fund is backed by a diverse investor base including development finance institutions, government entities, and foundations, among them the Green Climate Fund, UK-India Development Cooperation Fund, and the US International Development Finance Corporation. Through its investment strategy, the fund addresses critical climate and sustainability challenges in one of the world's fastest-growing economies.
