The Responsible Commodities Facility is a debt fund that provides seasonal, low-interest financing to soy farmers in Brazil through Agribusiness Receivables Certificates (CRAs). The fund specifically targets agricultural producers who commit to zero deforestation practices and maintain predetermined levels of forest cover on their properties. With $60 million in committed capital, it operates exclusively in Latin America with a focus on sustainable land use, climate mitigation, and responsible food and agriculture practices. The facility's financing model creates direct incentives for conservation by making access to affordable seasonal credit contingent upon verifiable environmental commitments. Through this approach, the fund addresses both agricultural productivity needs and environmental conservation priorities within Brazil's soy production regions.
