About this Role
As an Investment Officer in Climate Finance based in Lima, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing climate-friendly financial initiatives across the Latin America & Caribbean (LAC) region. In this role, you’ll engage with financial institutions, spearheading efforts to promote renewable energy, energy efficiency, and electric mobility. Leveraging your expertise, you will lead the complete due diligence process for investments and advocate for the development of green lending capabilities within partner financial institutions. With a strategic mindset and exceptional interpersonal skills, you will collaborate across teams to ensure successful investment outcomes in emerging and developing markets.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage relationships with financial institutions (FIs) across the LAC region.
- Lead the due diligence process from origination to ongoing monitoring of investments.
- Develop the Green Lending Strategy for FIs, assessing market potential for green initiatives.
- Convince FIs to commit to developing green lending capacities.
- Prepare and submit Investment Proposals to relevant committees.
- Coordinate with internal responsAbility teams from due diligence to disbursement.
- Conduct regular financial monitoring and stay informed about sector developments in the LAC region.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum six years of professional experience in investment or consulting focused on the financial sector.
- Expertise in credit analysis for financial institutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Dependable, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to travel at short notice.
- Superior communication skills in English and Spanish; proficiency in Portuguese preferred.
