About this Role
The Climate Financial Analyst will be part of NRDC’s Green Finance & Economic Development department, undertaking critical roles to mobilize capital for climate mitigation and adaptation. The position involves leading quantitative analysis to support projects in renewable energy, housing, and community development. The analyst will engage with high-impact initiatives both domestically and internationally. The incumbent is expected to independently handle complex analytical workstreams, ensuring data integrity and crafting insightful reports and presentations for various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, model, and structure financial instruments for climate mitigation and adaptation.
- Conduct quantitative analysis on risk, return, and impact across finance structures.
- Lead analytical workstreams to develop financial solutions in key sectors.
- Develop and communicate analytical products to inform policy and stakeholder engagement.
- Independently assess new opportunities in climate finance.
- Collect and clean data, ensuring analytical integrity.
- Create tables, charts, and models to present financial insights.
- Draft reports and presentations encapsulating analytical findings.
- Present analysis to internal and external stakeholders confidently.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant quantitative fields.
- 4-7 years of professional experience in investment banking, private equity, or related fields.
- Advanced financial modeling capabilities and familiarity with Python or R.
- Experience with financial data platforms like Bloomberg Terminal is a plus.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial structures and diagnose issues.
