ImpactAlpha, September 10 – Berkeley, Calif.-based software company Terabase helps monitor and automate utility-scale solar projects. The company is pushing to lower the cost of solar power below $0.01 per kilowatt-hour in the next five years. (A recent Terabase project in Qatar will sell power for $0.01449/kWh).

The company has raised a $6 million Series A round, led by Durham, N.C.-based SJF Ventures and backed by Powerhouse Ventures, City Light Capital and Trancoso Partners.

The deal is SJF’s fourth since the pandemic shutdown. Investments from SJF’s fourth fund include food logistics company Perishable Shipping Solutions; poultry farming company Cooks Ventures; and online learning platform Springboard.

In July, SJF portfolio company and B Corp Vital Farms completed an initial public offering on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
