About this Role

The Ford Foundation seeks a dynamic Program Associate to join the Mission Investments team. This role reports to the Senior Program Officer and is integral in advancing a strategy that leverages both grantmaking and investments for impact. The Program Associate will lead research, analysis, and coordination for the team’s active portfolio, serving as a key conduit for shared learning across the foundation. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for an early-to-mid-career professional to work at the intersection of philanthropy and impact investing, supporting innovative solutions that contribute to the foundation’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Review grant proposals and prepare analysis reflecting outcomes and strategic goals.
  • Engage with prospective grantees, investees, and partners, and make recommendations.
  • Help plan and conduct webinars and activities for grantees and investees.
  • Coordinate and conduct grant and investee diligence and management.
  • Conduct research using external and internal resources and consult experts.
  • Support team in analyzing data and identifying trends.
  • Summarize research findings in various formats.
  • Conduct regular check-in conversations with grantees.
  • Coordinate grantee and network convenings.
  • Assist in planning and executing learning sessions.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
  • College degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong proficiency in data collection, review, analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with software platforms, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respect diverse perspectives.
  • Comfort with organizational development and ambiguity.
  • Willingness to work in New York City.
