The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is focused on the private sector and plays a crucial role as the largest investor in emerging market private equity (PE) funds, with a portfolio of over 400 funds. IFC is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its Mumbai office, focusing mainly on assessing PE fund managers in South Asia. The role involves evaluating fund managers’ alignment with IFC’s investment criteria, monitoring portfolio analyses, and supporting corporate assignments. The analyst will work closely with IFC stakeholders, contribute to new business development, and perform portfolio management and corporate strategy tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Investment Officers with design, diligence, and structuring of PE fund investment projects.
  • Coordinate with internal IFC stakeholders to process investment projects and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct industry research and network at industry conferences.
  • Monitor fund relationships across funds in South Asia.
  • Review PE funds information and prepare internal reports.
  • Participate in investor meetings and coordinate with fund managers.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Prepare documentation for internal processes.
  • Assist Global Managers with global strategy assignments.
  • Perform deep dives on target regions and sectors.
  • Analyze development impact of IFC’s PE Funds department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, economics, or finance.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an analyst role preferably in investment banking or PE/VC.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound business judgment and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
