About this Role
The Director of Impact at NCIF will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s impact investing strategy. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, this position involves impact measurement, data analysis, and research. The Director will develop NCIF’s impact framework and measurement tools, manage and analyze portfolio data, and integrate AI-driven solutions to generate insights that strengthen NCIF’s operations. This is a hybrid position based in Chicago, IL, requiring robust project management and data analysis skills to guide NCIF’s strategy and lead its data team toward innovation and growth.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen and build on NCIF’s Impact Thesis and Theory of Change.
- Create internal benchmarks, scorecards, evaluation frameworks, and rubrics.
- Research and communicate the impact of NCIF’s business activities.
- Provide leadership in strengthening data infrastructure and integrity.
- Support the development of an AI-based data analytics platform.
- Develop annual impact reports, dashboards, indices, scorecards, etc.
- Collaborate with industry partners to advance impact measurement techniques.
- Write grant applications for CDFI programs and NMTC.
- Conduct promotional webinars and events.
- Comply with NCIF systems and policies.
- Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned by the CEO.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of research and data analysis experience in relevant fields.
- Energy, flexibility, and drive in an entrepreneurial setting.
- Thorough understanding of advanced research methods and social impact measurement.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and workflow documentation.
- Hands-on experience with research databases.
- Exposure to financial and transactional data analysis.
- Knowledge of BI tools and open-source visualization software.
- Proven writing skills for various audiences.
- Advanced Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Data Science, or related fields.
