About this Role
Elemental is on the lookout for a Director of Data Strategy & Insights, a role born at the nexus of data, strategy, and storytelling. The purpose of this position is to architect systems, analytics, and insights crucial in enhancing investment decisions and identifying emergent trends. The person in this role is expected to highlight the real-world impacts of Elemental’s work, ensuring that data is utilized to inform strategic decisions, drive action, and strengthen storytelling across portfolios. Your responsibilities will involve close collaboration with various teams, including investment, portfolio, communications, and operations, to bolster data infrastructure and facilitate improved decision-making processes. You will also play a vital role in identifying and implementing AI and automation tools to boost the team’s efficiency and operational scale. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of Elemental’s organizational data strategy.
- Maintain and continuously improve centralized data infrastructure.
- Improve the organization’s CRM architecture, including stakeholder engagement, pipeline tracking, and reporting systems.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools, automate workflows, and integrate emerging technologies.
- Analyze organizational and portfolio performance.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools for actionable insights.
- Identify emerging themes and trends across sectors.
- Partner with various teams to translate insights into compelling narratives and reports.
- Help oversee and manage external data partnerships.
- Establish portfolio-wide impact measurement frameworks and reporting standards.
- Coach companies on impact measurement and commercialization metrics.
- Support the development of impact narratives.
Requirements
- Strong experience analyzing complex datasets and translating findings into actionable insights.
- Experience measuring and evaluating environmental, economic, or social outcomes.
- Ability to synthesize information into compelling narratives and data visualizations.
- Experience with scalable data infrastructure and CRM systems.
- Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Familiarity with automation and AI tools is a plus.
- Experience providing client services around impact measurement is advantageous.
