About the fund

MSquared's Equitable Housing Solutions Fund, led by former NYC Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen, focuses on financing mixed-income housing in high-cost areas across the US to address the affordability crisis and drive upward mobility for low-income families. The fund secured a $139 million second close from Trinity Church, Capricorn Investment Group, Citi Community Capital, and Deutsche Bank, and is targeting a $250 million final close to finance more than $1 billion in mixed-income housing developments. To date, it has financed the development of 500 units, half of which will be affordable rentals, with projects in Dallas and Everett, Washington. All developments are built sustainably using energy-efficient systems and feature amenities including daycare centers, coworking spaces, healthy markets, and artsy outdoor spaces. The fund prioritizes investments with diverse developers, including women-led firms and people of color, while delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns for institutional investors.
