About the fund

FEFISOL (Fonds Européen de Financement Solidaire pour l’Afrique) is a pioneering European solidarity finance fund co-initiated by SIDI to support rural development and financial inclusion across Africa. The fund provides long-term financing—primarily debt and selected equity—to rural microfinance institutions, agricultural cooperatives, and producer organisations serving smallholder farmers and vulnerable rural populations. By strengthening access to financial services and agricultural value chains, FEFISOL aims to reduce poverty, promote food security, and enhance the economic resilience of rural communities, while applying strong social and environmental standards consistent with solidarity finance principles.
