About the fund
Kachuwa Impact Fund is a democratically governed investment cooperative and public benefit corporation designed to create and support a community of investors and entrepreneurs dedicated to meaningful impact. With a diversified portfolio comprising at least 60% impact real estate and up to 40% private debt and equity in impact companies, Kachuwa ensures every asset aligns with at least one of its nine impact themes—including renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, social justice, and community wealth building. Members join via annual stock offerings (minimum $5,000), receive no speculative rewards but annual “patronage dividends,” and share in the cooperative’s mission of patient, non-extractive capital for social and environmental benefit. Over $20 million has been invested to date, with the cooperative’s assets exceeding $30 million in 2024. The fund stands apart for its inclusivity of non-accredited investors, fixed-price stock, and commitment to both reasonable returns and a regenerative, community-oriented investment model.
