CleanCapital acquires solar projects in California and Vermont

ImpactAlpha, May 8 – The acquisition of more than 14 megawatts of solar generating capacity follows the formation last month of a $250 million partnership with CarVal Investors, founded by agricultural giant Cargill. CleanCapital acquired the solar projects for an undisclosed amount from Madrid-based developer X-Elio. The solar projects power schools, a vineyard and two utilities.

  • Partnership… The CleanCapital-Carval partnership plans to leverage its equity to acquire $1 billion in solar assets.
  • Solar powered… CleanCapital has invested nearly $100 million in projects in 10 states, representing 21.6 megawatts of electricity.

CleanCapital’s platform to screen and manage projects helps project owners sell to accredited investors looking for clean energy investments.
