About this Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Sustainability Intern to support the Private Capital Sustainability Team over a two-month period. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of sustainability and private capital investing. The successful candidate will work closely with investment professionals and sustainability experts, focusing on defined projects that contribute to value creation and portfolio management activities within the organization. Example projects include developing sustainability tools, frameworks, and playbooks that aid portfolio companies throughout the investment lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a practical sustainability playbook to support portfolio company exits.
  • Identify sustainability topics and performance indicators relevant to buyers and due diligence processes.
  • Benchmark sustainability disclosure and value creation practices across leading firms.
  • Create guidance on articulating sustainability achievements and ESG performance during exit processes.
  • Develop templates, case studies, and supporting materials for investment teams.
  • Support the development of sustainability value creation frameworks for portfolio companies.
  • Analyze portfolio company sustainability data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and update sustainability materials and tools for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to sustainability thought leadership and best-practice sharing.

Requirements

  • Strong academic performance in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Interest in private markets and sustainability value creation.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong written communication and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to structure information and develop practical, business-oriented recommendations.
  • AI literacy and proficiency in tools like Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently on projects.
  • Demonstrable interest in Sustainability.
