About this Role
Village Capital is launching an innovative capital facility in Northwest Arkansas, where they are deploying revenue-based financing to support early-stage companies often overlooked by traditional funding structures. This role, based in the NW Arkansas region, places the Investment Officer at the forefront of this initiative. You will be collaborating with local entrepreneur support organizations, evaluating potential investments, and supporting due diligence processes. You are integral to building local relationships and raising awareness about innovative financing. Reporting to the Senior Investments Manager, your role involves identifying investment opportunities, structuring deals, and managing the investment pipeline. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial modeling and deal analysis, alongside a demonstrated commitment to leveraging capital for the success of entrepreneurs.
Responsibilities
- Identify and cultivate early-stage investment opportunities across the NWA ecosystem.
- Collaborate with regional ESO partners to enhance deal flow and ecosystem awareness.
- Build and interpret financial models and lead due diligence.
- Evaluate the fit of financing instruments and draft investment memos.
- Manage end-to-end deal processes and maintain accurate records.
- Foster active relationships with portfolio companies and monitor developments.
- Engage with local and regional investors, expanding the investor network.
- Produce pipeline and portfolio updates and contribute insights to financial guides.
Requirements
- 3 to 7 years of experience in a relevant role within Arkansas.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with alternative financing structures.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly.
- Capable of working independently and managing varied workloads.
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets; familiarity with portfolio management tools is a plus.
