Clean energy. Cape Town-based Inspired Evolution committed $40 million to CrossBoundary Energy for solar and battery storage at mining sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Sierra Leone… Blackstone Infrastructure will invest €2 billion ($2.3 billion) in European wind and renewables developer Eurowind Energy… X-Energy raised over $1 billion in its IPO, valuing the Maryland-based nuclear developer at just under $12 billion.
Conservation finance. BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group raised $1.2 billion for its Latin American Restoration strategy from multifamily office Azarine, GenZero, Green Spark Ventures, and pension funds and development finance institutions in New Zealand and Australia.
Financial inclusion. Goldman Sachs Alternatives’ Horizon Inclusive Growth fund led a Series C for New York-based Kashable, which has deployed $2 billion in low-cost emergency loans to workers through employer partnerships since 2013. Revolution and EJF Ventures also participated… Brazil-based Aro secured $2.5 million from ONEVC, 17Sigma and others for its AI credit guidance agent for low- to middle-income borrowers.
Green infrastructure. Allianz Global Investors reached a $270 million first close for its Asia Pacific Infrastructure Credit Fund, backed by the International Finance Corp. and Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund the Indonesia Investment Authority, to lend to renewable energy and digital infrastructure across South and Southeast Asia.
Industrial decarbonization. Paris-based Abenex raised more than €75 million ($87.7 million) toward a €150 million target to invest in decarbonizing industrial companies across France, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium.
Investing in health. Zeal Capital Partners and Rethink Education co-led a $5 million seed round for Understood Care, which helps Medicare patients navigate the healthcare system.
Sustainable food. Omnivore led a $5.5 million round for Bangalore-based STCH, which helps fashion brands source and manufacture sustainable textiles.
