Financial inclusion. Cairo-based fintech venture Lucky ONE secured a $3 million convertible note to expand access to consumer credit to underbanked Egyptians… Mexican fintech startup Stori raised $212 million in debt and equity.
Green infrastructure. Cala Systems raised $5.6 million from Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, Collaborative Fund, Climate Capital and other investors for its hot water heat-pump system… Denver-based H3X raised $20 million to make power-dense electric motors for aerospace, defense and heavy industries… Gaussion, a UK-based EV battery performance tech venture, raised $12 million in Series A equity funding from Autotech Ventures, UCL Technology Fund and other investors.
Impact activism. Copenhagen-based Contribe raised €1 million ($1.1 million) from Rockstart, Human Act Development and the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark to help consumers identify companies aligned with issues they care about such as plastic collection and human rights.
Impact management. CapShift snagged more than $4 million in Series B funding to expand its portfolio of impact investing offerings, including addition of a new advisor platform powered by AI tools.
Impact real estate. Arctaris Impact Investors made a $27 million Opportunity Zone real estate investment in a mixed-use development in Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood.
Impact tech. Carbon recycler LanzaTech Global secured $40 million convertible note from Carbon Direct Capital… Echoing Green’s newest fellows span 21 countries… Omnivore led financing for Scimplify’s biotech products in India.
Inclusive finance. Dutch development bank FMO made a $10 million equity investment in FIDO Solutions, which uses AI and alternative data to underwrite loans to informal small businesses in Ghana and Uganda… Elevation Capital led the $5 million pre-Series A financing round of Skydo, a Bangalore-based cross-border payments startup for freelancers and small enterprises.
Investing in health. HealthCRED landed $1.2 million to finance India’s independent healthcare providers… Karma Primary Healthcare raised 110 million rupees ($1.3 million) from UBS Optimus Foundation, Ankur Capital and others to extend healthcare services in India’s rural communities… Y Combinator-backed Farmako of India snagged $1.6 million in seed financing from Goodwater Capital and other investors to expand prescription delivery services in Gurgaon and Delhi.
Low-carbon mobility. India’s National Investment and Infrastructure Fund invested six billion rupees (about $71.4 million) in Ather Energy, a Bangalore-based maker of two-wheeler electric vehicles… Intramotev scored $14.4 million for battery-electric autonomous railcars… London-based Clearly raised $4.3 in seed funding to monitor transport fleet performance and efficiency in order to reduce carbon emissions.
Waste to value. LA-based circular economy startup Ambercycle scored $10 million from Taiwan’s Shinkong Synthetic Fibers Corp. for its first commercial textile waste recycling facility… Pakka of India raised $29.4 million to develop its compostable packaging facility… UK-based Cocoon, which is turning industrial waste like steel slag into green cement, snagged $5.4 million from Wireframe Ventures, Gigascale Capital and other investors.
