ImpactAlpha, May 21 – Transportation accounts for 22% of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions and fuel efficiency, and alternative fuels will play a key role in achieving the Paris climate targets.

Dutch impact investment firm Social Impact Ventures invested an undisclosed amount in GoodFuels, a Dutch producer of biofuels for shipping and heavy transport. GoodFuels says its sustainable biofuels can achieve 75% to 100% reductions in CO2 emissions and eliminate sulphur emissions.

  • Good shipping… GoodFuels is working with Dutch dredging company Boskalis to develop alternative fuels for the marine and shipping industry. The International Maritime Organization has pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions 50% from 2008 levels by 2050.
