ImpactAlpha, December 12 – Sao Paulo-based Agenda Edu makes software to improve communication between teachers, parents and students in Brazil’s education system. Omidyar Network invested an undisclosed sum in the company.

Agenda Edu launched in 2014 to “bring families and schools together with interactions that generate value and strengthen ties.” The startup’s software allows Brazilian schools to manage everything from student attendance to tuition collection to teachers’ lesson plans. It also serves as a communications portal, allowing schools to post an events calendar, news, and photos.

The company currently works with more than 1,350 schools in Brazil and has more than one million users. It is looking to use the funding to triple its base.

Bossa Nova Investimentos, a Brazilian venture capital firm that invests in pre-seed technology companies, also participated in Agenda Edu’s funding round.
