As an impact investing intern at Rally Assets, you will work with and learn from a leading impact investment team in Canada, gaining a solid understanding of the impact investing sector, the breadth and diversity of impact investments, and the power of impact investing to support transformative change.

 

This internship is being offered as a part of The Good & Well Social Impact Internship Program. As an intern you will have the opportunity to participate in personal and professional development workshops led by social impact leaders and connect with a community of like-minded peers. Throughout your summer internship with us, up to 20% of your time will be spent participating in the Good & Well program, attending professional development and career workshops, wellness and personal development sessions, a 3-day outdoor retreat, and optional social gatherings and activities outside of working hours. As a result, interns are requested to be available for all 14 weeks and must attend G&W sessions in person in Toronto.

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The intern will evaluate private investments that provide a positive impact to society and align with Rally Assets’ client values and objectives.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

Applicants can expect this role to include the following:

  • Identify and research impact investment opportunities across multiple different asset classes, with a focus on private market investments
  • Support research on the market opportunity, and impact and financial factors of targeted investments
  • Support additions and maintenance of Rally Assets’ investment product database
  • Attend and participate in fund manager diligence calls and meetings

 

QUALIFICATIONS

On your resume, we ask that you demonstrate the following:

  • That you are legally able to work in Canada
  • Proficiency in English
  • Enrolment as a second-year student or above in a Canadian post-secondary program, returning to school in the fall after the internship (graduate programs count)
  • Enrolment in a relevant degree in a field such as business, finance, economics, or sustainability
  • A record of high academic achievement or commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Experience exploring how impact investing can support social and environmental justice
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and the Microsoft suite of products

 

During the interviews we will be reviewing, assessing and covering the following:

  • Your passion and interest in impact investing
  • Your ability to think critically, solve problems, and communicate solutions
  • Your time and project management skills
  • Your comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving, and self-directed work environment
  • Your belief in our company values of honesty, generosity, grit, empathy, curiosity, and integrity
  • Your commitment to contributing to a team’s success
  • Your interest in tackling the large environmental and equity challenges impact investing aims to help solve
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and communications skills

We create specialized solutions for corporate and institutional investors, foundations, family offices and individual accredited investors. We are a Portfolio Manager and Exempt Market Dealer registered in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec with the respective provincial securities commissions. Through our joint venture in Realize Capital Partners, we are a fund-of-funds manager for the Government of Canada’s Social Finance Fund.

 

Length of Internship: May 5 – August 8, 2025 (14 weeks)

Compensation: $25 an hour, 37.5 hours a week

Location: Toronto (in person or hybrid)
