About this Role
As a Principal Officer of International Business, you will lead business origination efforts for IDB Invest in North America, focusing on identifying investment opportunities aligned with our mission in Latin America and the Caribbean. You will be a key player in building a robust pipeline of high-impact projects, collaborating closely with various departments within the IDB Group. Your role involves reporting to key managers within the IDB Invest structure and externally representing the organization at industry events and forums. To scale our impact, IDB Invest is strengthening its international presence by recruiting senior investment professionals. You’ll be responsible for developing relationships with corporates, financial institutions, and multinational investors while staying abreast of market trends to identify priority sectors and opportunities. In this role, you’ll also focus on creating strategic partnerships, coordinating internally with various IDB departments, and supporting the institution’s high-profile events related to North America. A start date for this position is set after July 2026.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- At least 8 years (preferably 15) of relevant professional experience.
- Proven track record in sourcing and structuring investments.
- Solid understanding of private sector practices and finance instruments.
- Proficient in English and Spanish, Portuguese is a plus.
- No family members working at IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
