About this Role

As a Portfolio Analyst in the Community Development Finance Group (CDFG) at Deutsche Bank, you will play a critical role in delivering financial solutions intended to enhance the lives of individuals in low- and moderate-income communities across the U.S., with a particular focus on New York City. In this role, you will be deeply involved in underwriting, reporting, operations, and asset management for high-impact loans and investments. Your efforts will contribute to closing the racial-wealth gap through initiatives in affordable housing, entrepreneurship, and economic development. Your responsibilities will extend beyond addressing community needs, as you will ensure compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), embodying Deutsche Bank’s commitment to social, racial, and economic justice. You will assist with lending and investment transactions, manage deal closing processes, and support the ongoing operations of our portfolio. Additionally, you will prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the bank’s CRA regulatory examination and data collection efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with lending and investment transactions, supporting due diligence, financial analysis, and drafting memos.
  • Manage deal closing processes including KYC, legal review, and post-closing requirements.
  • Coordinate and prepare for quarterly and annual credit reviews, serving as a key point of contact for clients.
  • Analyze and synthesize client reporting and portfolio data, ensuring client compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirements.
  • Take a leading role in ongoing operations of the portfolio, continually improving processes and controls.
  • Work with loan operations, business finance, KYC-AML teams, valuation team, and other core functions for asset management.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, contributing to CRA regulatory examinations and data collection.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in real estate finance, urban studies, business, public policy, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in an analytic role within financial services, real estate, or community development sectors.
  • Exceptional analytical, writing, presentation, and organization skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex transactions.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, including an understanding of accounting principles and Microsoft Excel.
  • A demonstrated passion for community development and a commitment to social, racial, and economic justice.
