About this Role

The Investment Manager will be integral to the management of the Foundation’s investment portfolios, ensuring that these portfolios align with both the financial and ethical standards of the organization. You will work closely with the Investment Director and play a pivotal role in the Investment Committee, bringing insights from global asset and currency markets. The position demands in-depth involvement in investment transactions, oversight of treasury activities, and maintenance of investment governance aligned with the Foundation’s commitments, including the UN Principles of Responsible Investment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Investment Director in managing the portfolio and liaising with the Investment Committee.
  • Bring in-depth knowledge of global asset and currency markets to the Investments team.
  • Lead projects as directed by the Investment Director and present findings to the Investment Committee.
  • Work closely with Cambridge Associates to ensure effective reporting.
  • Review best practices in charity investment governance.
  • Ensure alignment with Charities Responsible Investment Network and UN Principles of Responsible Investment.
  • Oversee investment transactions and maintain compliance with AML documentation.
  • Support effective treasury processes and ensure liquidity for operational needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize cash returns.
  • Manage and guide the Investment Administrator.
  • Act as the GDPR lead for the investment function.

Requirements

  • Excellent investment acumen with significant experience in the investment sector.
  • Detailed knowledge of global asset and currency markets.
  • Effective relationship management skills, particularly with investment committees.
  • CFA or equivalent qualification with experience managing investment assets.
  • Strong communication skills and a successful track record in developing investment strategies.
