About this Role

The Investment Director at Global Nature Capital will take on a pivotal role in managing the investment function, where expertise in climate, natural capital, and real assets investing will be crucial. This high-impact position requires an individual capable of transforming development projects into scalable investment opportunities, thereby promoting substantial environmental benefits. The role involves collaboration with senior leadership and external advisors to drive the fund’s strategic investment agenda and align projects with institutional standards for governance and financial viability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of investments across ARR projects, including screening, due diligence, structuring, financial modeling, and negotiations.
  • Convert projects into investment-ready assets by collaborating with development teams.
  • Ensure alignment with fund criteria, including impact, governance, and risk-return.
  • Oversee the performance of portfolio investments, ensuring robust monitoring frameworks are in place.
  • Support fundraising and investor engagement, preparing and presenting investment cases and portfolio updates.
  • Develop processes, tools, and templates for building the investment function.
  • Hire and manage junior investment professionals as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with SFDR Article 9 positioning and ESG standards.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in private equity, infrastructure, or real assets investing.
  • Strong transaction experience with capabilities in deal execution and structuring.
  • Experience in natural capital, carbon markets, or emerging markets is a plus.
  • Financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Understanding of carbon markets and off-take structures is highly desirable.
