About this Role

The Investment Associate role is embedded within ThirdWay Partners’ Asset Management division. This position will spearhead the launch and deployment of a climate-focused fund in Latin America, a project initiated in collaboration with a leading private equity firm renowned for its work in emerging markets. The successful candidate will be expected to engage actively in the investment process, including sourcing, structuring, execution, and portfolio management. Candidates will find the role challenging yet rewarding, as it necessitates both technical acumen and an alignment with the firm’s purposeful mission. The role calls for navigating complex situations with curiosity, seamlessly balancing strategy with precision, and building trust across diverse teams and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Originate and source investment opportunities in the focus sectors.
  • Support the complete investment process: due diligence, financial modeling, structuring, and execution.
  • Build and maintain robust financial models to evaluate credit capacity and financial health.
  • Prepare compelling Investment Committee materials.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to assist in negotiations and document drafting.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, ensuring compliance with investment terms.
  • Draft necessary reports for investors and regulatory authorities.
  • Serve as a bridge between various internal teams and external partners for smooth operations.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or direct investment with a focus on climate.
  • Strong experience building and analyzing financial models.
  • Proven track record of executing transactions and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Passionate about climate finance and sustainable development in emerging markets.
  • Based in or open to relocating to Bogotá or Quito.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
