About this Role
The Investment Analyst for AlphaMundi will be based in Bogotá, Colombia, and engage in all facets of the investment process. This includes pipeline sourcing, due diligence, and investment monitoring to support the team effectively. With an existing portfolio of 15 companies spread across Mexico, Ecuador, and Colombia, the role demands frequent travel within the Latin American region to manage these investments. The analyst will be instrumental in market analysis, developing financial models, and creating investment memos. Collaboration with the investment committee and the Board of Directors, along with managing relationships with regional partners, will be essential duties.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all parts of the investment process including conducting detailed market and country analysis.
- Perform due diligence on pipeline companies and build financial models.
- Prepare investment memos and contribute to investment decisions.
- Monitor the current investment portfolio and support portfolio companies to mitigate risks.
- Prepare and present detailed investment documentation for AlphaMundi management.
- Develop strong relations with portfolio and pipeline companies, co-investors, and institutional partners.
Requirements
- 4-year degree in finance, business, economics, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in investment analysis and valuation in venture capital or investment banking.
- Experience in the Impact Investing field and operational knowledge in fintech, microfinance, renewable energy, recycling, and/or agriculture.
- Strong financial acumen including accounting, valuation skills, and expertise in Excel financial modelling.
- Excellent proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on communication, transparency, patience, and perseverance.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Must have lived in Latin America for 3+ years.
- Willingness to travel extensively in the region.
