We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced freelance ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) report writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing comprehensive ESG, sustainability, and impact reports for various organizations across different industries.

This position requires experience with SASB, TCFD, and GRI and can be remote from some states within the United States only.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop engaging and informative ESG, sustainability, and impact reports tailored to our clients’ specific needs and objectives.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to gather relevant data and information for inclusion in the reports.
  • Ensure alignment with global reporting frameworks such as SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board), TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures), and GRI (Global Reporting Initiative).
  • Utilize expertise in analyzing ESG ratings, including platforms to inform report content and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills to convey complex ESG concepts and data in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to clients on emerging regulatory requirements, including the new SEC and California’s mandatory climate-related rules, and how these impact their ESG reporting obligations.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in developing ESG, Sustainability, and Impact reports for diverse clients and industries.
  • In-depth understanding of global reporting frameworks and standards, including SASB, TCFD, and GRI.
  • Familiarity with ESG rating platforms and ability to interpret and analyze ratings effectively.
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft engaging and informative content for various audiences.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities to gather, analyze, and interpret ESG data and trends.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and findings clearly and effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of emerging regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to climate-related reporting, and ability to provide strategic guidance to clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Finance, or Business.
  • Previous experience working in ESG consulting, sustainability reporting, or CSR.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific ESG issues and trends across sectors.
  • Professional certifications related to ESG reporting and sustainability (e.g., GRI Certified Training).

The compensation for this position at the time of this posting is $100.00 per hour. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
