About this Role
The Director of Programs at Common Future will spearhead initiatives designed to cultivate community-based solutions that advocate for economic justice and equity. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing programs that empower network partners and align with the organization’s mission. This individual will work cross-functionally to ensure community insights are integrated into advocacy, philanthropy, and thought leadership. Success requires building trust, fostering equitable partnerships, and creating collaborative spaces for communities to devise solutions promoting collective prosperity. Additionally, the Director will guide program evaluation and impact assessment to enhance outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of programs that foster collaboration and capacity-building among community-based organizations.
- Develop frameworks for gathering insights, measuring impact, and documenting best practices from network partners.
- Cultivate and maintain a diverse network of community-based organizations and initiatives exemplifying equitable economic practices.
- Foster a sense of belonging and shared purpose among network members by facilitating connections and resource-sharing.
- Lead and manage Program Manager, fostering a collaborative and values-driven team culture.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to identify engagement opportunities for network members with Common Future’s priorities.
- Serve as a thought leader and representative of the organization in external forums sharing insights on community-driven economic initiatives.
Requirements
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships with marginalized communities.
- Experience co-designing programs with community partners, ensuring shared leadership and decision-making.
- Deep understanding of social, political, and economic dynamics affecting marginalized communities.
- Knowledge of economic and racial justice frameworks and practices to support systems change.
- Strong capacity to translate big-picture strategies into actionable community-driven programs.
- Ability to navigate high-level themes and frameworks for collaborative work with community partners.
