The Director of Private-Sector Partnerships at Project Drawdown is a crucial role aimed at advancing strategic partnerships with private-sector entities. This position is integral to building collaboration between Project Drawdown and private-sector leaders, including executives, philanthropists, and impact investors, to develop projects that promote science-based climate solutions. The role involves creating and executing comprehensive partnership strategies that align with Project Drawdown’s mission. The director will focus on forging relationships with corporate leaders and philanthropic organizations to mobilize resources for ambitious climate projects. Responsibilities will also involve maintaining high-impact relationships and implementing initiatives that leverage partner resources for substantial climate impact. As a member of the leadership team, the Director will contribute insight into strategic partnerships and work collaboratively across internal teams to maximize organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of partnership strategies with key stakeholders.
  • Identify, cultivate, and secure strategic partnerships with private-sector leaders.
  • Develop innovative partnerships focused on specific climate solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with philanthropic donors and corporate leaders.
  • Represent Project Drawdown at relevant industry events and forums.
  • Develop and deliver presentations tailored to partners.
  • Establish key performance indicators for tracking partnership success.
  • Secure funding and resources from private-sector partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Proven track record of 5–10 years in developing private-sector partnerships.
  • Ability to fundraise at a significant level with major funders.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience in leading and growing an effective team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Comfortable with teleconferencing and project management tools.
  • Experienced with Mac-based computing environments and Google Suite.
