About this Role
We are seeking a driven and passionate Climate Risk Analyst Intern to join CLIMADA Technologies for a 3-month internship. In this position, you will contribute significantly to the development of a comprehensive database that catalogs vulnerability functions and adaptation measures. Your efforts will support the expansion of CLIMADA’s offerings and play a pivotal role in robust climate resilience development. Collaborating closely with our team of interdisciplinary experts, you will delve into scientific literature and datasets, thereby aiding in the advancement of our state-of-the-art climate adaptation solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct desk research by reviewing scientific literature, reports, and datasets to extract key information on vulnerability, impacts, and adaptation measures.
- Organize and store extracted information within a structured and harmonized database.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to highlight significant database features such as geographical regions, economic sectors, and data granularity.
- Document the data collection process with detailed notes on sources, applicability, and limitations to ensure transparency.
- Compile insights that will directly enhance CLIMADA Technologies’ products and solutions.
- Collaborate with the product and business development teams as well as the Weather & Climate Risk Team at ETH Zurich.
Requirements
- A completed or ongoing MSc in fields like meteorology, climatology, engineering, or climate change impact studies.
- A solid understanding of climate science and climate adaptation.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience or interest in literature review, desk research, and data analysis.
- A self-motivated, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently.
- Sense of responsibility and ownership of tasks.
