About this Role

Village Capital is seeking a highly motivated and transformational leader to serve as the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO). This vital role involves leading the financial and administrative operations to sustain and advance the organization’s mission-driven impact. The CFAO will be integral in steering Village Capital towards its audacious goals for 2030, which include reaching 50,000 entrepreneurs and catalyzing $50 billion in capital. The selected candidate will work closely with the CEO, contributing significantly to financial health, compliance, and operational excellence, while collaboratively shaping strategic financial and operational frameworks. The CFAO will have the opportunity to structure and oversee key financial operations, providing significant impact and support to Village Capital’s final objectives. This role demands strong leadership, strategic oversight, and communication skills to drive the mission forward effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial management, ensuring timely and accurate data analysis and reporting.
  • Lead budgeting, financial planning, audits, and tax filings and compliance processes.
  • Manage cash flow, restricted assets, and grant budgets.
  • Support investment administration and integrate impact investment activities.
  • Collaborate with the Investment team on grant and fund administration.
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance and administration team.
  • Develop and implement systems, structures, policies, and procedures for operational efficiency.
  • Maintain internal controls and oversee regulatory compliance and risk management.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Board of Directors, co-leading the Finance & Audit Committee.
  • Oversee procurement and cross-functional financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in financial management, including nonprofit finance.
  • Proven expertise in nonprofit accounting and compliance with diversified revenue streams.
  • Strong leadership experience with team management skills.
  • Knowledge of GAAP for nonprofits and experience with fund accounting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and data management systems.
