About this Role

As an Associate on the Strategy team at Invenergy, you will play a crucial role in supporting high-priority strategic initiatives across the company. This position involves working across multiple functions to evaluate growth opportunities and solve intricate business challenges. Your role will require synthesizing complex information into actionable insights for senior leadership, demanding strong business judgment, curiosity, and the ability to influence without direct authority. The successful candidate will balance high-level strategic framing with detailed analysis, thriving in ambiguous situations and bringing structure to evolving business questions. This on-site role is based at Invenergy’s headquarters in downtown Chicago.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market, policy, competitive, and financial analyses to inform strategy and business performance.
  • Evaluate new growth opportunities, business models, strategic partnerships, and operational improvements.
  • Support annual strategic planning processes, developing strategic priorities and monitoring metrics.
  • Drive cross-functional strategic projects addressing vital business questions by coordinating across teams.
  • Structure ambiguous problems into clear workstreams and synthesize findings into practical recommendations.
  • Develop executive-ready materials presenting clear insights, tradeoffs, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in strategy, corporate development, management consulting, or a similar field.
  • Advanced analytical skills in financial modeling, Excel, and data visualization.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills for building credibility across teams; eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
  • Preferred experience in the energy sector and proficiency in tools like GenAI/LLMs, VBA, Python, and PowerBI.
