Purpose
Aligned Climate Capital LLC (Aligned) is an asset manager that believes the global response to climate change is creating a $50 trillion market opportunity. The Director of Operations will be responsible for Aligned’s business operations across multiple functions and business units. This includes finance, compliance, legal, Investor Relations, Human Resources, and other operational elements.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position is an exciting opportunity to lead Aligned’s business operations across multiple functions. Specifically, this position will manage a multi-person team and work closely with Aligned’s senior management to maintain business operations.
The Director of Operations will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Lead a multi-person operations team to ensure Aligned maintains effective and professional business operations;
- Oversee Aligned’s financial operations in coordination with the VP Finance, including financial planning, accounting, financial reporting, and treasury management;
- Manage execution of tax filings, audits, and valuations for Aligned and its affiliated entities in coordination with the firm’s accountants and service providers;
- Manage the firm’s compliance obligations (SEC, FINRA, etc.) in coordination with the firm’s third-party compliance consultant;
- Lead Aligned’s Human Resources activities, including hiring, compensation policies, organizational structure, performance evaluations, and other functions;
- Coordinate engagement with Aligned’s outside legal counsel across multiple strategies and functions;
- Manage Aligned’s contracts and engagements with various third-party service providers including fund administration, legal counsel, accounting, compliance, IT, insurance, etc.;
- Oversee Aligned’s investor reporting in coordination with the Senior VP of Investor Relations; and
- Support Aligned’s strategic planning process in coordination with the firm’s senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, Public Policy, or a related field;
- At least five years of experience in business operations or other relevant organizational functions;
- Functional knowledge of accounting principles and structures;
- Familiarity with operational requirements of a multi-strategy asset management firm;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and fluency in quantitative, written, and verbal communications;
- Proven ability to work across teams and functions; and
- Strong commitment to addressing the threat of climate change.
