Climate adaptation. Buenos Aires-based Satellites on Fire raised $2.7 million from Dalus Capital and Draper Associates to expand early wildfire detection to the US, where the startup says its system can identify fires up to 35 minutes before NASA.

Critical minerals. Buenos Aires-based Alkemio closed a $2 million pre-seed round from Dalus Capital, VU Venture Partners, Amplifica Capital, VX Ventures, and Epic Angels to advance modular, on-site rare earth refining that the company says cuts emissions by more than 70%.

Financial inclusion. IDB Invest raised $28 million through a local-currency bond in Paraguay to expand small business credit via Banco Familiar, its eighth such issuance in the country’s capital markets… Brazil-based Aro secured $2.5 million from ONEVC, 17Sigma, Norte Ventures, Gilgamesh, and Grão VC for an AI agent that delivers credit guidance to low- and middle-income borrowers.

Nature-based finance. BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group raised $1.2 billion for its Latin American restoration strategy from investors including Azarine, GenZero, Green Spark Ventures, and pension funds from New Zealand and Australia… Norway joined Brazil as co-chair of the Tropical Forest Forever Facility, committing up to $3 billion in loans to the rainforest preservation fund launched at COP30.
