About the fund

The Future Forests Innovations Fund represents New Forests’ initiative to provide long-term, scalable exposure to sustainable and productive plantation forestry assets across Southeast Asia, North America, Latin America, and Africa. Structured as a Singapore Variable Capital Company (VCC) and anchored by Oji Holdings with co-investment from New Forests, the open-ended fund targets both greenfield and brownfield forestry projects, integrating advanced genetics, analytics, and geospatial technologies for operational efficiency. With an initial capitalization of $300 million, the fund’s climate strategy includes achieving an additional 1.5 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent net sequestration per year by 2030, aligning with corporate environmental targets and offering a scalable platform for other institutional and corporate investors seeking nature-based climate solutions and sustainable real asset exposure.
