About the fund

FASA is a fund of funds launched in 2023 and managed by Investisseurs Partenaires, designed to mobilize catalytic capital for specialized agricultural investment intermediaries across Africa. The fund provides subordinated debt commitments ranging from $2 million to $10 million to smaller agricultural funds serving small and growing businesses in the sector, with a target fund size of $250 million. Its investment thesis centers on advancing climate-smart agriculture, improving rural livelihoods, and strengthening food security across the continent. FASA has secured commitments exceeding its target from bilateral and multilateral development finance partners, including USAID, the Norwegian government, and additional funding from the United Kingdom, South Korea, and France. The fund accepts capital from development finance institutions, foundations, government grant-making agencies, and institutional investors, positioning itself as a capital aggregator that addresses the persistent financing gap for African agricultural enterprises.
