Mirova Energy Transition 6 is a global infrastructure fund focused on advancing the energy transition through investments in renewable energy, energy storage, low-carbon mobility, and energy efficiency projects. The fund represents Mirova's sixth flagship offering in this strategy, deploying capital across greenfield developments, brownfield assets, and corporate infrastructure opportunities worldwide. With a target size of $2.3 billion, the fund has already secured $1.03 billion through its first close, primarily from institutional investors and family offices. It operates within Mirova's broader climate and decarbonization investment framework, strategically positioning its portfolio to capitalize on the global shift toward sustainable energy systems while delivering both environmental impact and financial returns.
The Mirova Sustainable Land Fund 2 (MSLF2), structured as a blended finance vehicle, had its first close and commenced operations in 2024. Launched in December 2023, it reached €100 million at its first close and is on track to hit its €350 million fundraising target. Managed by Mirova, the impact investing arm of Natixis Investment Managers, MSLF2 tackles the interconnected challenges of land degradation and climate change by investing in sustainable land management projects, supporting agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable forestry to enhance soil health, increase biodiversity, and improve carbon sequestration. The fund provides long-term financing for sustainable land use projects and companies that support certified production of food and fiber value chains, targeting positive impacts on climate mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity protection, community inclusion, and gender equality, with an existing pipeline across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The coalition of investors combines public, private, and philanthropic capital through a blended finance approach, with the SDG Impact Finance Initiative (SIFI) playing a catalytic role as the first junior investor. The Rainforest Alliance serves as a strategic partner to support pipeline development and high-quality project implementation.

The fund finances solar home systems, agricultural and industrial applications, mini-grids, electric vehicle mobility, energy storage, climate-smart food systems, and energy efficiency initiatives in emerging markets. Targeting institutional investors, it combines financial returns with measurable social and environmental outcomes, including support for women entrepreneurs and women's access to clean energy through alignment with the G7-founded 2X Challenge initiative. The fund addresses climate mitigation and adaptation while advancing broader objectives of social development, economic infrastructure, and gender equality in underserved regions.
Mirova Energy Transition 5 is an infrastructure fund focused on accelerating the energy transition and addressing climate challenges across global markets. The fund reached its final close in 2022, successfully raising €1.6 billion in capital commitments from institutional investors. As the fifth vehicle in Mirova's energy transition series, the fund invests in renewable energy infrastructure, grid modernization, energy storage, and electrification projects that support decarbonization objectives. It continues Mirova's established strategy of targeting infrastructure assets that combine environmental impact with stable, long-term returns. The fund represents a significant scaling of Mirova's climate-focused investment approach, building on the experience gained through its four predecessor funds in the energy transition space.

About the fund
The Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) Fund was dedicated to the restoration of degraded land, created in 2017 as a blended finance vehicle. Managed by Mirova and co-created with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) — making it the first fund to directly operationalize the LDN target adopted at COP21 — the fund deployed debt financing primarily to small and medium-sized enterprises operating sustainable land use business models across three continents. Its final investments brought the LDN Fund's portfolio to a total of 13 sustainable land management projects in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, in businesses spanning coffee, cocoa, timber, nuts, fresh fruit, ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry, and payments for ecosystem services. The fund operated through a blended finance structure combining concessional public capital as a junior tranche with senior private capital, with anchor support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), UNCCD, and development finance institutions. It was SFDR Article 9 compliant and is now closed to subscription and fully deployed, serving as the direct predecessor and proof-of-concept for MSLF2.
