About the fund
The Good Karma Fund is a Brazilian-registered early-growth stage impact investment fund that provides venture capital and growth capital to companies with proven business models and high-growth potential addressing key development challenges in climate change, health and education. It is managed by Good Karma Partners, a leading impact investor in Latin America, and aims to increase the availability of long-term financing for mission-driven companies scaling solutions with measurable environmental and social outcomes.
The fund directs approximately 80 % of its capital toward mature, venture-backed companies (Series B+) and about 20 % toward early-stage enterprises, investing across sectors such as mental health services, agri-sustainability education, industrial decarbonisation, bio-inputs, waste and recycling infrastructure, outpatient healthcare and sustainable agriculture. An initial US $5 million investment from IDB Invest supports the fund’s ability to close the financing gap at the early growth stage and enhance co-investment opportunities in strategic sectors with development impact.
In addition to capital deployment, the fund’s impact strategy integrates climate risk analysis and Paris Agreement alignment guidance, strengthened environmental and social management systems, and sustainability capacity-building support for its team, ensuring investments generate positive outcomes aligned with multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals — including Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Climate Action (SDG 13) and Life on Land (SDG 15).
