About the fund
The Impax Global Resource Optimization Fund, L.P. is a private fund vehicle managed by Impax Asset Management (AIFM) Ltd., the UK AIFM entity of Impax Asset Management Group plc, a London-listed specialist sustainable investment manager founded in 1998 with a mandate from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to invest in companies whose work might reduce resource scarcity. The fund's investment thesis draws directly from Impax's foundational intellectual framework: in 1999 Impax developed a proprietary global resource optimization equity universe, which was subsequently adopted by FTSE in 2007 for their Environmental Market Classification System. This universe defines the investable landscape as companies generating at least 20% of revenue, profitability, or invested capital from environmental markets — specifically renewable and alternative energy, energy efficiency, water infrastructure and technologies, pollution control, waste management and technologies, environmental support services, and food, agriculture, and forestry. The strategy employs a research-intensive bottom-up stock selection process to identify leading companies in increasingly important global environmental markets, integrated with a ten-step ESG investment process that incorporates governance, social, and environmental analysis. The fund raised $126.1M from 13 investors at its 2016 Form D filing and had approximately $110.2M in assets under management at its most recently reported figure, with a minimum investment of $3M. It is structured as a Delaware LP, with Impax Asset Management (AIFM) Ltd. as AIFM (London) and U.S. Bank NA as custodian. A 2022 Form D re-filing confirms the fund remained active
