About the fund
Climate Asset Management’s Nature-Based Carbon Fund (NBCF), closed at over $445 million in 2024, is one of the world’s largest dedicated vehicles for investing in nature-based climate solutions. Managed as a joint venture between HSBC Asset Management and Pollination, NBCF targets landscape-scale projects—including reforestation, avoided deforestation, and restoration of rangelands—across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The fund’s strategy focuses on producing high-integrity, third-party certified carbon credits, while simultaneously supporting biodiversity, water security, and livelihoods in local communities. By combining private institutional capital with the expertise of NGOs and project developers, NBCF aims to deliver durable, measurable climate and nature outcomes and advance the scaling of global markets for nature-based carbon removals and offsets. This strategy has found strong appeal amongst leading global corporations with published net zero targets, including GSK, Tokyo Gas and Carrier.
